After browsing our Open-Box Buys we get many folks asking us the same question: "How do you sell this stuff so cheap?". Many items on the Open-Box Buy is priced below normal wholesale cost. Some units are returns that were often tried just once and sent back. Others were removed from the box for various reasons; demo, display, trade or home show sample, wrong item sent or any other of the hundreds of reasons why the item would not be sold as new - most of which have nothing to do with performance or function. In these cases we lose less by reselling them at cost or below rather than returning them for a manufacturers credit less the restocking fee. Some units such as demo models or scratch & dent do not qualify for a return to the manufacturer and must be sold to recoup any cost.

Other times inventory is purchased specifically for the Open-Box Buys department at Vacdepot. These units are sometimes old inventory from manufacturers or other distributors that are new or demo products, but may have been produced a few years ago and may not be current models. Some new Open-Box Buy models may have been shipped several times before landing in our warehouse which can result in scratches, dings or other blemishes. These units have already been written off or marked down before we buy them and we can pass the mark down on to you. As the Open-Box Buys are non-returnable we are willing to cut the margin (or eliminate it completely in many cases) to get these items off the books and out of the warehouse. If you know the product you looking for and don't mind a few scratches or dings in some cases then Open-Box Buys are a great buy, no bidding required!

Open-Box Buys VS. Vacdepot Closeouts
Vacdepot offers both Open-Box Buys and Closeouts. Open-Box Buys are listed only on the Open-Box Buys page and can be ordered only by phone. Open-Box Buys can include a mix of new units and return units which may have blemishes or be dusty from display, demo or trial. Vacdepot Closeout units are new products in new condition. Both Open-Box Buys and Vacdepot Closeout units include a Warranty from Vacdepot and are guaranteed fully functional. Vacdepot Closeout units also include the same 30 day satisfaction guarantee as regular new items on the Vacdepot website and can be returned up to 30 days from delivery. Open-Box Buys are non-returnable and non-refundable. Both Open-Box Buys and Vacdepot Closeouts are the same high quality products offered new on the Vacdepot website at exceptionally low prices, many below wholesale cost. Open-Box Buys and Closeouts are limited in quantity and availability. Most Open-Box Buys are single units and once sold may never be offered again at the same low price. Vacdepot Closeouts are limited to one unit/system per customer. No other discounts or promotions apply to Open-Box Buy or Vacdepot Closeout Items.
