The Vacuum Pups

Vacdepot is a family business and a large part of our family is of the four legged variety. As our family has grown (and grown) we have changed our lifestyles to accommodate spending more time with our pack, the vacuum pups. Spending work and leisure time with your best friend is a great way to go through life and we know by speaking with many of our customers that people from all over the country feel the same way.

The reality is that many animals are without a caring pack to call their home. Over-population creates unwanted animals that often live terrible lives, end up in abusive situations or land in the pound where adoption chances are low and the risk of death is nearly inevitable.

Who Is S.A.R.A.?

SARA is the only no-kill, non-profit 380-acre animal sanctuary of its kind. SARA seeks by example to illustrate the value of animals; and thus the irresponsibility of allowing an unending cycle of reproduction, neglect and abuse of these animals. SARA has not wavered from their original goal of a true no-kill policy - the animals live out their natural lives regardless of age, temperament or health.

Not all animal shelters are alike. While many state sponsored animal shelters do their best to adopt animals, what is deemed unadoptable is destroyed. On the other hand most non-profit or privately operated shelters are no-kill. Most no-kill shelters are often small and must limit their intake to only adoptable animals. Imagine a business that all inventory you buy will be sold at a loss, and there is no guarantee anyone will buy your products. To top it all off, no-kill animal shelters receive little or no funding from state or federal governments.

SARA is also in a third, unique category with few other no-kill shelters. SARA is a Animal sanctuary, in every sense of the word. While many in-city shelters may need to euthanize animals from lack of time or space constraints. At SARA space is nearly unlimited, as is the care of the operators and volunteers whom seek to work with animals rather than dispose of them. Those that are not adoptable make SARA their permanent home.

As long as space and safety permits, SARA accepts animals of all types. the SARA Sanctuary is located in southern Texas between Austin and San Antonio in Seguin, Texas. Formerly an old dairy farm, the Sanctuary is in the middle of 380 acres. The original buildings, still in existence today, consist of a milking barn turned into living quarters, a kitchen and a special needs facility; a large outhouse with a claw foot tub; and a guest house, now the study. Over the last eight years, several mobile homes have been added to accommodate staff and to provide a climate controlled environment for elderly animals.

How Do I Participate In The Donation Program?

The vacuums available under this program are listed below. Each of these models are also well adapted for cleaning in homes with pets with unique cleaning functions or features. Sorry, other vacuums can not be added to the list at this time.

SARA Sanctuary & Program Specifics
The donation to SARA is per gift item, tee shirt or ball cap. When you order a SARA vacuum your gift item of choice will be packaged with your new vacuum. The SARA gift items are non-returnable, non-exchangeable and if you choose to return your vacuum the donation to SARA ($20. for the shirts, $25. for the cap) will be deducted from your returns invoice. The donation program can not be exchanged for cash. You can opt-out of the donation program by not selecting a free gift when you order.

All shirts and caps are the same color. The ball caps are one size fits all with cloth sizer, "putty" in color with the SARA logo on front and "Unconditional Life" on the back. Tee shirts are a quality Hanes Beefy-T or Gildan Ultra-Cotton brand in putty color with ribbed neck and smaller SARA logo on front with a larger SARA logo and "Unconditional Life" on back. T-shirts are available in sizes; Medium, Large and X-Large.

SARA is a registered 501(c)(3) corporation, recognized as a nonprofit charity in the business of helping animals for 10 years. Started as a vision of the SARA Director and continued with the support of many great volunteers and donations. 100% of funds from the Vacdepot-Sara gift item donation program go directly to SARA. SARA Sanctuary does not endorse or promote any of the products in any way. "SARA Select" vacuums is only the name for the vacuum models available within this donation program. The manufacturers whose products are part of the S.A.R.A. Select Model Donation Program are not making the donations, and do not endorse S.A.R.A. or the program. All models are chosen by VacDepot and all donations are made by VacDepot.
