Security is an integral part of all Vacdepot.com operations. At Vacdepot we employ many methods of security that work together to keep our customers information safe. This includes of course the credit card processing systems, but also our web, email and database systems that receive, store and transmit your personal information.
Your connection to sensitive areas of the Vacdepot.com website are always transmitted through a Secure Sockest Layer server (SSL & TLS). Our SSL Server certificate in addition to providing data encryption also provides Identity Verification by GeoTrust (formerly Equifax) of Vacdepot Inc. as a valid Texas based corporation. Movement of payment data to the credit authorization network is also encrypted for security and final transmission to the Vacdepot.com home office for processing is double encrypted where it is transferred off the network (internet). Our credit and order processing systems are not connected to the internet and are also secured from internal intrusion with additional methods of security including redundant devices on premises. Unless specifically asked not to do so by the customer, we destroy all hard data if any is used (paper copies). Customer records are only kept in a central intranet server that is not connected to the internet and a single optical backup device. All payment data including credit card information is purged from the order processing system after 30 days unless a customer asks to keep payment information on file.
Privacy
Steps taken to secure your personal information are not lost in our commitment to privacy for our customers. We take extraordinary steps to protect the private information you have entrusted us with, both physically and virtually. As a matter of policy, we do not sell, give or trade your private information to any individual or company except for those directly required to complete the sale. We do not send unsolicited email. Your private information, including email address, is not left unprotected on a web or mail server. Vacdepot uses web cookies to maintain state information, shopping cart/products and evaluate our advertising programs. No personally identifiable information is associated with 3rd party cookies or shared with our advertising or charity partners.
